Organic Holiday Cookies

Here's a holiday treat recipe that supports people fighting cancer, using organic ingredients where possible:

Organic Date, Walnut, and Dark Chocolate Cookies

These cookies are packed with cancer-fighting ingredients and natural sweetness, making them a delicious and healthier holiday treat.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup organic Medjool dates, pitted and chopped

- 1/2 cup organic walnuts, chopped

- 1/4 cup organic dark chocolate chips (70% cocoa or higher)

- 1 cup organic whole wheat flour

- 1/4 cup organic coconut oil, melted

- 1 organic egg

- 1 tsp organic vanilla extract

- 1/2 tsp baking soda

- 1/4 tsp organic Himalayan pink salt

- 1/4 tsp organic cinnamon

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, mix the whole wheat flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

3. In another bowl, whisk together the melted coconut oil, egg, and vanilla extract.

4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then fold in the chopped dates, walnuts, and dark chocolate chips.

5. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.

6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.

7. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

This recipe incorporates several ingredients that may support cancer prevention and overall health. Dates are rich in antioxidants and have a low glycemic index[1][6]. Walnuts contain cancer-fighting properties and heart-healthy fats[3]. Dark chocolate is packed with antioxidants and may have mood-boosting effects[1]. The use of organic ingredients, when possible, can help reduce exposure to pesticides[4][6].

While there's no clear evidence that organic foods directly prevent cancer, incorporating a variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet is known to reduce cancer risks[2][8]. These cookies offer a healthier alternative to traditional holiday treats while still providing a delicious and festive option for those fighting cancer or looking to support their overall health.
